Kids help create chaos. Sometimes, that chaos can be helpful and productive. This is just one example.
My daughters are always asking to play games on their laptops and keyboard-connected iPads. Always. Any parent knows that games aren’t always “kid friendly” in the eyes of a parent. Because of that, I wanted to create a game that my children could play. It had to be something easy that presented a little bit of a challenge for them.
My kids range in age. The youngest is 4, the oldest is 9 and the middle one is 6. Some can read advanced chapter books. One is starting to learn what sounds letters make. Because of their age differences, finding games that appeal to each of them is always a challenge.
I decided to do as simple a game as possible. My girls all favor the polka dot pattern and know how to play simple games like Pin the Tail on the Donkey. So I implemented a game with a similar and familiar objective: don’t poke the dot!
Don’t Poke the Dot is a simple game that keeps them occupied long enough that I can fold laundry or empty the dishwasher. Play the game by clicking the following link: Don’t Poke the Dot!
