Hi, I’m MK.
I write contemporary romance about hope, healing, and the people who quietly make impossible dreams possible.
My debut novel, Emergency Contacts, will be published by Creative James Media in early winter 2027, with more stories to follow.
I’ve spent nearly two decades watching the journey from pre-med to attending. I witnessed not only the extraordinary commitment medicine requires, but also the sacrifices made by the people who love those pursuing it.
Those stories—the partners, families, friendships, and relationships behind medicine—rarely make it onto the page.
I wanted to change that.
Because I believe the most unforgettable stories aren’t about extraordinary people. They’re about ordinary people who stay when life gets hard.
Before writing novels, I spent years telling stories through award-winning screenplays, where I learned to build emotionally-driven characters and layered relationships. That foundation continues to shape every novel I write.
When I’m not writing, you’ll usually find me reading, spending time with my family, cheering on my daughters, riding my horse, or adding entirely too many books to my ever-growing TBR. I believe every great story leaves you feeling a little less alone—and that’s the kind of story I hope to write.
Fiction to Fact
In addition to my work as a novelist and award-winning screenwriter, I’m a communications professional with a B.S. in Journalism from Georgia Southern University and an M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Georgia, with a concentration in Emerging Media.
